LISA MURPHY

Designer

Kitchen Design defines who I am today

Growing up I developed a keen interest in art and design through the love of drawing, painting and photography and architecture. These interests led me to my career in the design field.

Graduating college with a degree in Environmental and Housing Design provided me fundamentals of construction and interior design that I use every day in my job.

Entering the design field, I landed in the kitchen and Baths design business which I have been happily apart of for more than half my life. It is a great reward to love what you do.

The best part of being a designer is to stand with my clients in their new space and see what was once a vision become reality right before them."

As a designer with DDK for 30 years, I have had the pleasure of working with countless clients designing and providing cabinetry and materials for their kitchens, bathrooms, family rooms, home offices, and basements.

Home remodeling is both a financial and emotional investment on the homeowner and it is my job to navigate the homeowner through the project. My first step in my design process is making my customers feel confident and at ease with me and their choices. Projects can be a bit of a puzzle. I will work with you to put the pieces together by listening to your needs and dreams, providing design ideas product choices, discussing product materials, color, and style details so that the end result showcases your style and vision.

I have worked on a wide range of products…

  • Single rooms, small vintage condos to entire homes, spanning the Chicago areas and numerous states.
  • New construction, existing single-family homes, historic homes, and hi-rises, making sure the design is compatible with the new space.
  • Partnerships with contractors, architects, home builders and interior designers on many projects.
  • I have received years of training from numerous cabinetry, appliance, countertop, plumbing, lighting, and tile manufacturers to keep up to date on the current trends and products.

Through the years of training and partnerships, I have gained a vast knowledge of products and home construction methods which aids me in the design process of my projects.

The best part of being a designer is to stand with my clients in their new space and see what was once a vision become reality right before them. The end result is why I’m still designing today.
